Fabrizio, Dante and Roberto are 13 or 14 years old. They live in Z.E.N., Zona Espansione Nord, the slum neighborhood of Palermo, Sicily. Away from the adults, who are they? The unwritten laws of the ghetto produce solitude, disorientation and privation. But the three kids do not rise up: their friendship becomes their gentle strenght and their natural safe haven. In couples, or small groups, they build up their own private worlds, sometimes shown, sometimes hidden, always fed by their emotions and their bodies. Their bodies as a starting point, a return point, their sole point of reference. When Fabrizio is alone with Aurora, his friend or maybe girlfriend, he experiences the first sudden sparkles of his teenage years. His awkward age isolates him and protects him. Then highschool is over, and they have to invent, all by themselves, a possibile future.
